Once a year Yaquina Art Association Photographers have a unique opportunity to share their skills in a caring way–by volunteering with Help-Portrait the first weekend in December. Help-Portrait is an independent group of volunteers participating in the worldwide Help-Portrait movement to give portraits away to the underprivileged in the community. Each year, around the holiday season, a group of local photographers and volunteers organize HP events to give out free portraits to many deserving individuals and families in the central Oregon coast communities.
Help-Portrait is looking for YAAP members to provide refreshments, welcome families, take photographs, review the photographs with family members, and print the selected photographs. The biggest reward is seeing the smiles on people’s faces when they see the finished result!
