It is time for our annual selection of EID images for submission to the 4Cs Invitational competition. The EID selections will be selected by club members in a people’s choice fashion. This will be done prior to the regular YAAP meeting on August 16, 2021.
Submission Deadline is Wednesday August 11, 2021
We are asking for images to be sent by August 11. These will then be sent out to members to identify their top images by Saturday August 14. We will then have our final set to present to members at our meeting on the following Monday.
There are three types of images: Traditional, Monochrome and Altered Reality. For guidance on AR, please refer to page 35 of the 4Cs “Gold Book” at https://bit.ly/3gaPscn. YAAP members may submit up to two (2) images for each of these EID categories. A set of ten Traditional images, five Monochrome, and five AR images will be forwarded to the 4Cs.
The 4Cs Invitational has several additional caveats you should be aware of should you choose to enter.
- Submission of electronic image files automatically grants permission for duplication, for the purpose of being used in 4Cs’ traveling educational shows of winners.
- Images that have been entered in a previous Convention Invitational or received an award in the previous year’s EID Competitions are not eligible.
Please submit your EID image(s) by the end of Wednesday, August 11, 2021, to yaapeid@gmail.com. Images will then be made available to members on Thursday with instructions for scoring them. This competition is only open to paid YAAP members. If you have not renewed your membership for the coming year, please do so with our treasurer Melody Lavrakas (sealavrakas@gmail.com, 541-574-0899).
File Format
Images must be in JPEG (jpg) format without any visible signature or watermark. It is recommended (but not required) that they be in the sRGB color space.
File Size
All of the following size requirements must be met:
-
Horizontal dimension maximum: 1400 pixels*
- Vertical dimension maximum: 1050 pixels*
-
File size maximum: 2 Mb
* including any borders and key lines.
File Naming
Images must be labeled using the following format:
-
FirstnameLastname_CLUB_TitleName_ImageType.jpg (where the image type is denoted by a single capital letter: T for traditional, M for Monochrome, A for Altered Reality)
-
JohnDoe_YAAP_PrettyFlower_T.jpg is an example of a proper file name.
Do not separate the words in the name or title. Do NOT use any spaces in the file name. Use underscores ONLY to separate your name from the club’s initial, the club’s initials from the image’s name and the image’s name from the image type.
We hope you will participate, so that we have a strong pool of images to send to the 4Cs.
