Master Photographer Vern Bartley will give a presentation on Drone Photography: How to Fly Legally and Safely on Monday, March 5 at 7 p.m. The program will speak to both the hobbyist and commercial drone pilots. Drones are proving to be one of the fastest changing and utilized technological resources to appear in the past few decades. Drones are used in virtually every segment of life including emergency services, construction, agriculture, science, industry, military, real estate, and advertising.

The FAA has structured Rules and Regulations to help interface the drone systems into the National Air Space (NAS) to ensure both can operate safely within their respective flight envelopes. Bartley will detail how any drone pilot can be part of the solution rather than the problem, when it comes to operating safely for all concerned.
He will also talk about the upcoming Cascadia Traveling Photography Exhibit, a competition that chose his image, Yaquina Head Nebula, as one of 48 photos in their exhibit. The opening reception for the Cascadia show will be on April 6th in Baker City, and it will travel to The Dalles and Corvallis later in the year.
